Time for a cheat day?

Some days you just need to treat yourself. All the hard work of exercising and diet deserves some indulging with this Banana Bread Loaf.This family recipe has been with us for 35 plus years and still no Banana Bread comes close to this family favorite.

*Makes two loafs 🍞

🍌Ingredients:  

2 1/2 cups FLOUR

1 teaspoon SALT

2 teaspoons BAKING SODA

1 cup VEGETABLE SHORTENING 

2 cups SUGAR

2 cups mashed ripe BANANA (about 7)

4 EGGS, slightly beaten

1 cup chopped WALNUTS 

🔥 Preheat oven to 350 degrees 🔥

Grease and flour 2 loaf pans. 

Stir together the flour, salt and baking soda in medium size bowl. In large bowl mix (use a mixer) the shortening and sugar together. Once mixed add mashed banana, eggs and walnuts and stir with spoon. Add the combined dry ingredients and stir just until the batter is thoroughly blended.

Pour mixture into pans and bake about 60 to 70 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean. 

Remove from oven and let cool in the pan about 5 minutes, then turn out onto a rack to cool completely.
